Looking for a value for money dessert destination in SM Seaside City? Want to satisfy your sweet cravings and bring back your childhood memories? Need an instagrammable hang-out spot to catch up with your friends over coffee with a picturesque view of the metro?

This is the newest baby of Casa Verde the Room For Dessert in SM Seaside Cebu (Skypark) and though on photos it had so much promise. The King of Sinulog is off to Room for Dessert located at the Sky Park Level 3, a new addition to the growing chain of family-owned restaurants by Casa Verde, this time focusing on delectable treats, sandwiches and delightful blends that will surely brighten up your day. Read on as I prove to you why there’s always a little bit of room for dessert for everyone.

GETTING THERE:

SM Seaside City in SRP Mambaling is just 30 minutes away by taxi from the Capitol. If you’re planning on taking a Jeepney ride, drop off at the overhead pass at Mambaling Elementary School and ride a motorcycle from there and pay PHP15 per person. If you’re coming from SM City Cebu, you may ride the MyBus for PHP25 per person. The restaurant is on the mall’s 3rd Level Sky Park right across Casa Verde.

AMBIANCE:

First of all, I love where the establishment is situated. The Sky Park is a beautiful outdoor deck of SM Seaside City with a panoramic vista. Imagine having a cup of coffee and a good book while relaxing at one of their cozy chairs while watching the sunset over the horizon that pierces through the glass walls of this cubic structure that looks as if it’s floating on water, where else can you do that in Cebu? Neutral colors of black and white dominate the place with instagrammable dividers, blackboards with colored chalk lettering and creative overhead lamps with an area of about 100 square meters that could accommodate about 30 people in one setting. Room for desserts is perfect for dates, casual hang-outs or even business meetings.

MENUS:

For dessert lovers, they have more or less five types of cakes and soft serve ice cream with cotton candy on it and 5 choices of toppings. For those who came in to have a quick bite, they have 7 sandwich offerings such as pulled pork, turkey and roast beef to name a few. You can also create your own sandwich, how cool is that? For the coffee and tea lovers, they have hot and cold options. For the smoothie fanatics, they have nine flavors to choose from such as mixed berries, peach mango and blueberry strawberry to name some.

MY ORDER: Ting's Heavenly Chocolate Soft Serve Ice Cream

To cure the my drowsiness, I ordered Ting's Heavenly Chocolate Soft Serve Ice Cream Special in a cone (Php 59). It was totes instagram / snapchat worthy, and the taste was just on for me. I love the chocolate toppings - Twix, Snickers, M&Ms and everything else just did work. I ate the cotton candy first, toppings, and everything else. The soft serve itself was bland. The cotton candy was just cute, but it just made it so messy cause upon contact with the soft serve, it seeps up the liquids and just melts and all, and you just end up with sticky colored sugar syrup.

I'd probably come back if I had time. For coffee, or cake, or even their sandwiches. They look very good, at least on their IG account. For the soft serve, also it was featured on Insider, I would definitely go for it it, with my shenanigans wants to try another desserts next visit here.

PRICE:

In comparison with other coffee shops and dessert shops in Cebu, I believe they are the most affordable. For PHP59, you can have their ice cream specials on a cone. For PHP115 and below, you can already have a primo cup of their hot and cold drinks and smoothies. For as low as PHP130, the 6-inch egg salad sandwich is yours. If word of mouth spreads, this establishment would be full-packed daily.

SERVICE:

A couple of minutes and your order is ready to eat or drink right at your table. The team at Room for Desserts is more than capable to meet the specific requests of their customers, as they have been continuously learning since late last year. Avoid weekends and peak hours as much as possible as service time would surely be affected.
